EHRC issues interim guidance on single-sex spaces

It follows the UK Supreme Court's ruling that a woman is defined by biological sex under equalities law.

    In associations - groups or clubs with more than 25 members - the EHRC says “a women-only or lesbian-only association should not admit trans women (biological men), and a men-only or gay men-only association should not admit trans men (biological women)”.

    That all seems a bit muddled and exclusive. Surely it should be up to the club who they want to admit?

    Maybe we should ban single sex spaces and associations, and everybody can do what they want? There’s no good reason for gender specific bathrooms anyway.
