Oh boy…
On Sunday, Trump told a conservative conference in Arizona that he was not under Musk’s thumb.
“You know, they’re on a new kick,” he told the crowd at AmericaFest, organised by Turning Point USA. “All the different hoaxes. The new one is that President Trump has ceded the presidency to Elon Musk.”
“No, no, that’s not happening,” he said. “He’s not gonna be president.”
I don’t know how much Lemmy remembers of 2016 Trump, or pre politics Trump, but when he says stuff like that it means the seed is in his head and he is thinking about it.
This was a few days ago, but I wonder if it will keep coming up…
Say what you will about the WSJ and their editorialism (and I’m sure there’s a lot to be said), but they still have some great investigative pieces.
Tactically, Trump’s team is so stupid for letting him do this.
Kamala and her VP are the “unkown” candidates of the race, exposure helps them disproportionately.
And the potential for him to fall back on, er, bad habits and say something momumentally offensive is extremely high.
And she’s an AG. Would you show up to court and debate an AG by yourself? Making their opponent slip is their job.
The only way out is to end the propaganda machine and make people want out.
None of this matters without grassroots support. We could get 20% of the entire country to protest, every major institution to complain, formally impeach the president in both houses, and it wouldn’t mean shit because 50% of people will never see it in their feeds.
Hate should be directed squarely to Facebook, Fox, pretty much any engagement farm.
