Rebuilding in disaster zones without designing for the climate, and expecting different results is insanity.
Homes should be built to account for natural disasters. For example built on stilts in flood zones, built to withstand high winds in tornado zones, built partially underground to account for fire prone areas.
Not all these designed would “look uniform” across a country as large as the USA and might not fit the propaganda of the american suburban single family home unfortunately.
