The Earth's atmosphere contains large amounts of nitrogen in the form of dinitrogen gas (N2). Converting N2 to ammonia (NH3) is critical for making the fertilizer needed for agriculture.

    Oh great, another attempt to replace natural systems with an engineered substitute. We already have things powered by light that fix nitrogen into the soil, they’re called “legumes”. Get out of the damn lab and plant some peas.
