Royalty of all kinds are slime. Just think about what even constitutional monarchs are fundamentally doing. They’re essentially just sitting quietly in the background, vampires waiting to swoop in and reclaim real power again when the moment is right.

We’re used to democracy, but its tenure is short compared to the time scale of monarchy. But the royals sure haven’t forgotten. They know the real power their ancestors had, and they would do anything to get it back.

They can’t seize power now, so they simply wait. They’re waiting for democracy to trip. Maybe people lose faith in the system due to years of gridlock. Maybe some great national calamity occurs that makes people yearn for someone to rule firmly with an iron hand. Maybe they just slowly pull strings behind the scenes until they can seize power again violently.

The point is they’re all just sitting in the shadows waiting for their moment. A regression to absolute monarchy is entirely possible if the winds of history blow this way or that. And if those winds blow towards monarchy, these royals want to be there to take advantage of the moment, or even to engineer that moment.

They fundamentally do not believe in the principles of democracy. They fundamentally believe that they are, by birth, naturally superior to the rest of us. They view us as children who have temporarily gotten control of the steering wheel, and they’re just waiting for a chance to take it back.

The French had the right idea. The only good royal is a dead one. Being a monarch of any kind is a crime against all humanity. Every royal should be given the choice of abdication or the gallows.

Royals are slime, an affront to all that is good and decent in this world. Anyone claiming that they have a right to power from birth deserves to have their head removed from their shoulders. Being a royal is a crime against humanity.
