That stuff is so worthless. You have to ask the pharmacist for the real stuff because we are babies and someone might make meth with it. Which is obviously worth the massive inconvenience to the 99.9999% of people who just have a sinus infection.

To make meth (methamphetamine) you need some chemicals that are hard to make outside a serious lab and are very controlled.

pseudoephedrine is a good starting place to make meth. It’s the active component in Sudafed hence the name. The good stuff behind the counter has pseudoephedrine the stuff on the shelf doesn’t and doesn’t do anything.

There is more chemistry in pseudoephedrine products to make it hard to turn meth then there is in it to make you feel better.

As science and methods advance, new data should be considered in the context of the full weight of available evidence, not as a complete replacement of the previous body of evidence—especially when considering an ingredient as safely and widely used as PE. CHPA will review the Proposed Order and submit comments accordingly," Melville said.

Yeah, it was. The old studies were reviewed and found to be lacking in foundation; new studies showed no better than placebo. Sorry about your golden parachute, Melville. Maybe don’t hawk snake oil if you don’t want to get treated like a snake oil salesman.

It’s been known for at least a decade that shit doesn’t work.

Anyone who has used it could tell you it does fuck all.

My mom used to give me this every day when I was a kid. I suffered severe allergies. Should there have been any long term negative consequences? I thought it helped. Did it make me the “crazy” person I am today? Also remember people taking Dexatrim for weight loss which was basically speed!

That was probably before it was put behind the counter and requires talking to the pharmacist and paperwork, because it can be used as a precursor to meth. The stuff on the shelf with the same name now is useless.
