    Had that happen in the OG FF VII. Playing the game, had a 2 week business trip, came back… “Wait, did I just get to this town or was I about to leave?”

      This exact phenomenon is why I can’t like any The Legend of Zelda game besides Breath of the Wild

        I solved that problem in RPGs by always making my final save for the day as I’m about to leave town.
