Al Jazeera has faced significant criticism and controversy regarding its alleged links to and support for various Islamic extremist organizations. Here are some key points:

    1. Support for Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ):

      • The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) published documents indicating that six Al Jazeera journalists in Gaza are members of either Hamas or PIJ. These documents reveal close cooperation between Hamas and Al Jazeera, including instructions from Hamas to Al Jazeera on how to cover certain events and the establishment of a secure communication line between the two. The IDF has also accused Al Jazeera of deliberately cutting interviews with ordinary Gazans who criticize Hamas and Qatar, and exclusively broadcasting Hamas statements and operations against the IDF.
    2. Promotion of Islamist Extremism:

      • Al Jazeera has been accused of being a mouthpiece for the Qatari monarchy and promoting Islamist extremism, jihadism, and Salafism. The network has aired interviews with leaders of extremist groups, such as Jabahtu Alnusra, an al-Qaeda offshoot, and has been criticized for not siding with revolutionaries during the Arab Spring but rather with the Islamists.
    3. Links to the Muslim Brotherhood:

      • Al Jazeera has been closely associated with the Muslim Brotherhood, the oldest and most pervasive Islamist group in the Middle East. The network has been accused of promoting the Brotherhood’s agenda and has been barred from operating in several countries, including Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, UAE, Jordan, Egypt, and Morocco, due to its alleged support for Islamist militias and organizations.
    4. Criticism from Governments and Organizations:

      • Various governments and organizations have criticized Al Jazeera for its alleged support for terrorist organizations. For example, Saudi Arabia banned Al Jazeera after the Qatari Emir recognized Iran as an Islamic regional power and praised Hezbollah and Hamas. Additionally, Al Jazeera has been accused of having an “Islamist drift” and has faced criticism from political leaders and security organizations.
    5. Allegations of Propaganda:

      • Critics have labeled Al Jazeera as a propaganda arm for Hamas and other Islamic extremist groups. The network has been accused of spreading anti-Semitic, anti-Israel, and other extremist views through its programming.

These points highlight the controversies surrounding Al Jazeera’s alleged support for Islamic extremist organizations and its role in promoting Islamist ideologies.

So Israel and its ally Egypt have issues with it. As you can see, it’s biased accusations.

IDF have killed more women and children than Hamas and aren’t currently using collective punishment in Gaza against civilians and in the West Bank (bulldozing houses, not Hamas).
