A true smart device should have all the knowledge within itself and doesn’t need to rely on the internet or cloud to function…if it relies on cloud or internet for basic functionality that is inherently dumb.

That sounds like okay news to me because “innovation” as of late seems to consist of “how can remove things people want to do with their things unless they pay”
