wish it was just available and not a kickstart and that it used standard hdmi. they stay in better and adapters can go either way.

At some point it’s weird not to include bare-bones functionality as an independent machine. God knows a Raspberry Pi kinda setup doesn’t add much to the bill-of-materials. Shove a RISC-V SOC in there and you’d attract the hobbyist market.
Conversely, it’s surprising no big-brand laptop has offered this as a feature. Stick a toggle near the hinge to switch the HDMI port from receiver to transmitter. Have one USB port that always acts like a client keyboard and mouse.
