have to agree. ibm/lenovo thinkpad repairablity can always be better, but en repair guides abound (I know the article dings them for lack of fr guides) and physical access to the internals are pretty reasonable.
most recently dealt with thinkpad p16’s and they were lovely to work on. thinkpads are still my go-to for anything other than a boutique purchase.
