I can’t really remember the details but Skeptics Guide to the Universe was talking about this a few weeks ago.
As we learn more or better resolve the object’s trajectory the probability of collision was expected to increase mildly before dropping to zero.
I don’t remember why exactly I’m sorry.
Good news is we can redirect it if we need to, and even if it does hit it will have fairly local and short term effects.
Bad news is that it will have extremely local effects so getting people to pay for a redirect mission will be hard.
