    It doesn’t. It costs more to treat people than to prevent illness.

    That’s why all the healthcare companies are always sending out info about preventative care, and offering cash and discounts to actually follow through with it.

    This is a situation where it doesn’t actually make them more money for the bullshit. It’s just bullshit that kills people.

      If you are the health care provider, then sick people make you tons of money. The sicker the better. Healthy people make you nothing.

      Insurance companies have to pay out sometimes, of course, but they’re fairly good at minimizing it. In general, sick people result in an influx of cash to the system that doesn’t exist for healthy people. I think the current decision-makers in Washington are far more on the side of the health care industry as a whole, than they are of the patients and parents who are now getting squeezed for all those tasty payments.
