I honestly don’t see that making anything better. The VP is even more of a sock puppet for this exact reason. Even the mister stinky wouldn’t make a dent in the real problem. Now, crashing a Koch party, that might have a chance at real change. This is a much larger cultural problem than one person is creating. I wish that wasn’t the case but it was exactly the same with Caesar. He was killed and the republic still fell because it wasn’t the man it was the environment that created him.
The two biggest contributors here are the shift to venture capital that started with William Shockley in the 1950’s pushing silicon into vc instead of military. VC is ultimately feudalism. The second big mistake is ads based internet. It has undermined autonomy, and the right/necessity for a well informed public as required in a democracy. A free press is a cornerstone that failed a long time ago. These two issues are coming to a head. The results are dire. If it wasn’t for the move to VC, the world would have been in WW3 in the late 1970’s to early 1980’s. In our timeline it will be in the 2030’s. One of the prime reasons is because the growth due to silicon is over. The governmental structure is likely to change drastically based just on this one factor alone.
Somehow people think trump getting killed wouldn’t help but also that Mangione was a hero. I think putting some fear into Vance/Musk would be a good thing.
